It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month!!

Raise your hand if you, or someone you know, has been affected by Breast Cancer.

*Raises hand*

Let's face it, with numbers on the rise, it is uncommon that you've come into contact with someone that hasn't been affected by Breast Cancer.  According to cancer.gov, this year there will be about 232,670 new cases of breast cancer and 40,000 deaths from breast cancer in women and 2,360 new cases and 430 deaths in men.

Living a healthy lifestyle could quite possibly reduce your risk or recurrence of breast cancer. Please get screened, a simple mammography or MRI can find early stages. These numbers are increasing every year, so don't wait to get screened!
Show your support this month, and every month, for the people in your life that are battling this ugly disease. Wear your pink ribbons proud!

We carry all kinds of Breast Cancer Awareness items, from badge holders to scrub tops to watches!

Autism Awareness Month

Since the 1970s the Autism Society has celebrated National Autism Awareness Month!  The US distinguishes April as an opportunity to connect with neighborhoods and communities to inform and educate the public about the affects of autism.

In the United States, autism has risen to 1 in every 68 births and almost 1 in every 42 boys. Every 11 minutes a family gets the news their child has autism.  Autism is a complex developmental disability that commonly emerges during the first 3 years of life.

This spectrum disorder affects everyone differently, and one of the most important things you can do as a parent or caregiver is to learn the early signs of autism.  Here are a few signs to look for in the children in your life:
• Little or no eye contact
• Repetitive behaviors such as hand flapping
• No babbling or coo-ing by 1 year
• No meaningful 2 word phreses by 2 years old
• Constant fixation on parts of objects
• Any loss of speech. babbling or social skills at any age
• Lack of interest in peer relationships

The most distinguishing symbol of Autism Awareness is the puzzle ribbon. This year Trust Your Journey introduced 3 new scrub print tops for Autism Awareness. Based on the total sales for these 3 prints in 2014, Encompass is going to give a 5% donation to the Marcus Autism Center in Atlanta, GA. This donation will impact each family served and will support the programs that Marcus Autism Center offers.

Show your support with one of these adorable scrub tops and know that you are helping make a difference! For more information on autism or ways to get involved, please visit the Autism Society or Autism Speaks.

Stretch Scrubs

We love stretch scrubs!  If you haven't tried them yet, you're missing out!  Stretch scrubs move with you, not against you, and have just enough stretch to hold their shape all day long. Here are 2 of our favorite brands of Stretch Scrubs!

BIO STRETCH
The new BIO Stretch solids are amazing! Contrast lined pockets add hidden fun so you can add color to your uniform without breaking uniform codes! The bar tacks and double stitching offers durability and a great look. The fabric blend is 55% Cotton, 42% Polyester and 3% Spandex. BIO Stretch scrubs are offered in 9 different colors for women, you're sure to find one that strikes your fancy! Men's BIO scrubs are also available!

Below is the ladies Angled V scrub top, style # 19021. This top has 5 pockets - 2 lower angled on seam pockets with 2 angled welt pockets and one welt pock on the left chest. The Angle V scrub top features side vents, angled back detail and set in sleeves.

JOCKEY SCRUBS
Another great line of stretch scrubs is Jockey. They have also just come out with a new line called Jockey ModernJockey Scrubs and Jockey Modern have tri-blended fabric made up of 72% Polyester, 21% Rayon and 7% Spandex.

We often joke that Jockey Scrubs can be worn as pajamas because they are so comfortable, stretchy and durable. I guarantee you will be so tired, after a 12 hour shift, that one day you will decide to go to bed in your scrubs.  Though we don't encourage sleeping in the clothes you just spent the whole day in, we won't tell because we know Jockey is that comfortable!

Below is the Jockey Modern Zippered scrub top, style # 2311. Featuring a flattering Y-shaped neckline, contrast pocket details and you can also unzip to reveal contrast modesty placket. There are 4 pockets in this top, 2 of which are zippered, giving you plenty of space to store your supplies.

With stretch scrubs available in so many different styles, colors and brands, there is something for everyone!
